About Ami
Ami graduated from Chicago School of Massage Therapy ( now Cortiva Institute) in
1986.
She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, ranging from Doctor and
Chiropractor offices through traditional massage clinic, health club, and now
in private practice. She also treats Equine clients, and most other animals.
This variety of settings contributes to her ability to treat a wide range of
clientele in a way that best suits their needs. Ami is comfortable working with
all ages, having treated infants through seniors, including physically
handicapped clients.
Ami is an expert level therapist in the specialty of John Barnes Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR). She began this training over 15 years ago.
She also teaches an introductory course in MFR at Elgin Community College's
Therapeutic Massage Program. Along with this, she teaches a Case Report class for the student's final paper. This consists of mentoring students on how to research a condition of a chosen client, design a treatment plan, supervise them as they run a clinic, perform the treatments, and finally write a case report.
Ami has extensive training in other manual therapy techniques and uses this and her years of clinical experience in many different settings to create a comprehensive treatment philosophy, which addresses the body as a whole and uses the most relevant techniques for each client.
